Reporting Options
Microsoft Access
Microsoft Access was the original reporting tool used with Banner. At this time, many Microsoft Access-created reports are being converted to the WebFOCUS system with the general plan to fully utilize the University supported reporting tool.

Data Access
ODS - Operation Data Store
The Operational Data Store is an enterprise-wide store of near-current, integrated, and detailed data, structured to enable efficient end-user tactical reporting. The ODS is in the implementation process, and it can be used to have quick, efficient access to key pieces of Banner data.
Data Views
Prior to the implementation of the ODS, UNCG MIS staff developed a number of data views to assist with campus reporting needs. While these data views met the need for campus reporting at that time, the campus should transition to the ODS for efficient reporting.
Data Warehouse
Also prior to the implementation of the ODS, UNCG MIS staff developed a data warehouse to provide a copy of Banner data that could be accessed more quickly than live, production data. There are plans to retire the UNCG warehouse when the ODS is fully implemented.
